Two Iranian animations are to be screened at the 56th Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France.
‘Maned and Macho’ by Shiva Sadeq-Asadi and Samaneh Shojaei’s ‘Ascribed Achievements’ are the two animations to be screened at different sections of the event.
Competing in the short films competition section, ‘Maned and Macho’ is the story of a girl’s repressed emotions and instincts, which are embodied in some animals that come out of her dreams.
‘Ascribed Achievements’, which is a new experience with grotesque narration and real images, tells the tale of an old boy, who is dissatisfied with his inborn appearance and decides to end his life. But his failed suicide leads to a new situation in his life.
The Annecy International Animation Film Festival was created in 1960 in the French town of Annecy.
Throughout the festival, in addition to the competing films projected in various cinemas of the city, an open-air night projection is organized to project classic or recent films upon the giant screen.
The festival is to be held from June 12 to 17, 2017 in France.
